Picture of Bird Houses at Sunset

This photo was taken at Mineral Wells State Park in Mineral Wells, Texas at the golden hour. Sunset and sunrise landscape photos catch the beautiful colors in the sky as the sun hovers just over the horizon.

The angle of the shot is very important. Just by moving the camera a step this way or a step that way - it can change the entire dynamics of a photograph. The high-rise of birdhouses were staggered, an uneven row so I found an angle that worked for me - one that was appealing to my eyes. Taking the photo from ground level or standing also renders two separate compositions.

When you get an opportunity to shoot a subject in light that is constantly changing, it's best to take several different compositions of the subject and to shoot as quickly as possible while you still have the light with you. If the light is dim you will need a tripod for a sharp shot. Personally speaking, I'm able to shoot free-handed as long as my shutter speed is 1/50th a second or over. Some photographers can steady a camera at much lower shutter speeds.
